Timesheets

Just a few things to remember about timesheets:

  • If you work on a holiday, you get paid double… so put your hours in two places… Regular Hours and Holiday Hours. (If you normally work an 8-hour day, you’ll have 16 hours that you will get paid for on that holiday.)
  • If you were scheduled off on a holiday, put 8 hours in the Holiday Hours space and leave the Regular Hours space blank.
  • Pay periods end at midnight on Saturday night… but payroll is not processed until Monday morning (usually). Then, we get paid on Tuesday. Please make sure your timesheet is up to date as of Saturday night.
  • Since payroll is not processed until Monday, if you change the pay-period number on your timesheet before it is processed, everything is thrown off. Please don’t change to the next pay-period until Tuesday when you get paid.
  • Remember that we pay by the quarter-hour… and that we use decimals in the timesheet… so, 4 and 3/4 hours equals 4.75.
  • We are scheduled for a 30-minute lunch each day which we don’t get paid for. If you are forced to work through your lunch because of being short-handed or just too busy, please include that time in your hours. That should happen rarely, though.
  • Try to make sure you are getting a couple of breaks during the day, if you can. We are allowed two 15-minute breaks each day (that we get paid for) to get off of your feet, rest for a few, etc.. Breaks may not be combined with each other or with lunch. Be very aware of everybody else’s breaks and lunches to make sure everyone gets their chance and we don’t encroach on someone else’s only chance.
