Things to Know – Quickbooks POS

There are lots of little details that are good to know in our Quickbooks Point of Sale system. For example, the Attribute box of an inventory item:

See the screenshot below. Right above the Reg Price on the left is a box titled “Attribute”. You will find letters here depicting which outlets (or agencies) are approved to sell this item in their stock, There are a few other letters to designate the status of the item.

  • D = Dinosaur National Monument
  • B = Fossil Butte National Monument
  • F = Forest Service – Flaming Gorge Dam
  • OOP = Out of Print (Not available)
  • N = New
  • R = In the Review process

If an item does not have a “D” in the attribute space, we are not approved to sell it at Dinosaur. If it says BDF, we may sell it everywhere.

If you spot something on the computer that looks interesting, but doesn’t have a “D” or has “OOP”, please don’t order it from the warehouse — you won’t receive it.

I’ll cover more on POS issues in later blogs. Please acknowledge that you have read and understand this.
