Selling Postage Stamps to Visitors

As a service to visitors, we will sell them postage stamps to put on postcards or letters. We don’t make any money at all on them so it is purely a service provided as a convenience for them.

We have no way of mailing items for visitors. Please direct them to the nearest post office or postal service dropbox. Do not offer to take their mail and drop it off for them because you are going to the post office yourself. This would possibly expose you, I.N.H.A., and/or the National Park Service to liability claims… so, we are not authorized to handle U.S. Mail for anyone.

As of today, May 23, 2022, we sell domestic postcard stamps [for regular 4″x6″ postcards] for $.40 ea. and 1 oz. letter stamps for the metered rate of $.53 ea. Our Stamps.com stamps that we print out in the office are considered metered. Standard 1st Class letter postage stamps would be $.58 ea.

Panoramic postcards (4″x10″) and 3D postcards require a letter stamp… a postcard stamp will not do.

The Global (International) stamps that we sell are $1.30 ea. for postcards or letters, it doesn’t matter which. 3-D postcards, panoramic (4″x10″), or standard (4″x6″) postcards cost $1.30 to send to Canada, Mexico, and all other countries.

It is appropriate for us to explain the amount required for certain types of mail. It is the visitor’s responsibility to place the proper amount of postage on an item for mailing. We take no responsibility for proper amounts of postage or for ensuring that a mailed item will or will not get to its intended destination.
