Celebrate Earth Science Week, National Fossil Day, and International Archeology Day at Dinosaur National Monument’s Rocktoberfest from October 8-16, 2022

There are 23 different geologic formations exposed at Dinosaur. Take a closer look at a few of the rocks and fossils found within them. On display inside the Quarry Visitor Center.

Junior Ranger Activity Books

Request a free Dinosaur Junior Ranger or Junior Paleontologist activity book, and complete the activities to earn a different badge for each.

Self-guided Tours

Pick up an auto tour or hiking trail guide for $1 at the Canyon Visitor Center in CO or Quarry Visitor Center in UT to learn how geology provides a foundation for a diversity of life, history, and recreational opportunities at Dinosaur National Monument.

Meet the Community Volunteer Ambassador at the Quarry Visitor Center back patio to learn about opportunities for underserved communities to work in the geosciences.

Friday, October 14

1:00 pm – Paleontology Talk

Saturday, October 15

10:00 am – Geology Talk

Meet at the Quarry Exhibit Hall shuttle stop for a 15-20 minute ranger talk about the geology of Dinosaur National Monument.

1:00-3:00 pm – Rock Art Stations

Rangers will be stationed at stops 1, 13, and 14 on Cub Creek Road to share more about the petroglyphs at those sites. Purchase a $1 Tour of the Tilted Rocks guide to learn about rock art and more at any time.
