Red Canyon Visitor Center to Open!

On Friday, May 28, 2021, the Red Canyon Visitor Center, located in The Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area on the Ashley National Forest, will open for the 2021 summer season… just in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Visitors will be able to enter the visitor center this year with some building capacity restrictions and a controlled directional flow. They may enter the building through the south doors, work their way through the visitor center bookstore area, enjoy the monumental view out of the northwest windows and finish up at the counter, exiting out of the east doors.

Red Canyon Visitor Center is Ashley National Forest’s main contact point “on the mountain” and works in tandem with I.N.H.A. to provide educational and memorable items that visitors can purchase to always remember their trip to this special place. I.N.H.A. is an IRS designated 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation created to aid the educational, interpretive and scientific mission of the U.S. Forest Service on the Ashley and Uinta-Wasatch-Cache national forests, the National Park Service at Dinosaur and Fossil Butte national monuments, the Bureau of Reclamation at Flaming Gorge Dam, and the Bureau of Land Management at the John Jarvie Historic Ranch in Browns Park. A portion of every purchase goes toward these special places to help support them and keep them available for the public and generations to come.
