Mouse (Mice)

Along with a lot of other infestations of insects, weeds, etc, the wet spring and ample vegetation seem to have brought up rodent numbers, too. Why they are going into our backroom for shirts is baffling, but we need to ask a few questions and maybe make some adjustments.

We must all make sure that we don’t eat in the storeroom or in the office. It only takes a few crumbs to draw attention. They can’t live without water so try to make sure that no liquids get spilled and not immediately wiped up.

Watch the traps… Only a small amount (pea size) of bait or lure is needed. Place mouse traps at a right angle from the wall, with the trigger end almost touching the wall. If they are set parallel to the wall, set them in pairs with the triggers situated to intercept mice coming from either direction. Use more traps for heavier populations.

Mice are prey after all, so they’re born scared. That means that they’re terrified to be out in the open and prefer traveling close to walls. Once again, the more traps the better, especially in areas where you know mice are hanging out, usually where there’s food.
