John Jarvie Ranch hosting Harvest Fest

The John Jarvie Ranch is hosting its annual Harvest Fest later this month.

The event is slated Saturday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the ranch in Brown’s Park, Daggett County. There is no entrance fee.

The ranch will be decorated in preparation for Halloween. Activities of the day will include leather working, blacksmith demonstrations, crafts, a vendor to purchase lunch, and tours of the John Jarvie Historical Site.

For further information on the Jarvie Harvest Fest, contact the BLM-Vernal Field Office at 435-781-4400 or the Jarvie Historical Ranch at 435-885-3307. For directions, visit the facility’s website at blm.gov.

While a tradition had been formed around the Winter Fest, usually on the first Saturday in December, the BLM moved the date to the last Saturday in October. Hopefully weather will cooperate and more folks will be able to get there on this earlier date.

INHA will have their Traveling Bookstore there and is supplying the pumpkins with donated funds.
