Happy Presidents Day – Mon., February 16th

American citizens mark the third Monday in February as Presidents Day to honor these presidents. In the development of the United States to become a leading economy in this world, we can not forget the great contributions of generations of American presidents. They are considered the most powerful man in the free world.

History:

Up to now, there is some misconception between this day and Washington’s day. In fact, by the time it officially became a legal national holiday in 1885, February 22nd was chosen to recognize the birthday of George Washington who was the first president of the United State of America.

Afterwards, in 1971, the Congress declared the third Monday in February each year to be Presidents Day so that national officer can enjoy a three – day weekend.

Since then, Presidents Day has been more popular and widely recognized to honor all presidents of America. These two days seem to be merged as one in the public concept even though some places still share the original February 22nd to celebrate the birthday of their first presidents.
