Dinosaur, Colo. – The National Park Service announces a major road, parking lot, and sidewalk reconstruction project in the Utah portion of Dinosaur National Monument for 2025. To conduct the work safely and efficiently, the Dinosaur Quarry Exhibit Hall will temporarily close to all visitor access from September 8, 2025, through late October 2025.

The annual lottery for non-commercial river trip permits runs from December 1 through January 31. Get your applications in now for your chance to float the Green or Yampa rivers. Dates and details are listed below. For further questions, call the river office at (970) 374-2468 Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 12 PM Mountain Time, or email at dino_river_office@nps.gov.

This modest increase in fees will allow us to continue to protect, preserve and share the special places here at Dinosaur with current visitors and future generations,” said Dinosaur Superintendent Phil Akers. “After soliciting input from the public and carefully considering the impact of a camping fee increases on visitors and community members, we came to the conclusion that this is the right course of action to improve facilities and services important to visitors.
